[SYMPOSIUM] missing Children : for better co-operation between european countries

How to improve the cooperation between european States and numbers ofemergency 116 000 for the disappearances of minors ? How to ensure effective prevention about this phenomenon and the risks associated with the fugue ? What support for victim families ? November 30, 2023 will be held in Paris a symposium co-organized by the 116 000 Missing Children and Missing Children Europe will bring together international actors to attempt to answer these questions and propose new perspectives of cooperation within the european continent.
THE DISAPPEARANCES OF MINORS IN EUROPE
250 000 miners are reported missing each year in Europe in the framework of fugues, disappearances disturbing orparental abduction. Since 2007, theEuropean Union has instructed its member states to givea number ofemergency 116 000 to accompany the families of the victims of these cases. Now present in 32 countries, these numbers officials are working together within the european federation of Missing Children Europe.
PROGRAM
The public opening will be held from 8: 45am to 9: 30am.
The symposium will begin with a keynote address at 9: 30am.
Three round tables punctuate the day around the issues of cooperation of prevention and support to families of victims in the european area :
- 10: 30am – 12pm : Strengthen cross-border cooperation in the framework of the disappearances of children
- 13: 40 – 15: 10 : Prevent the loss of children : a joint effort
- 15.25 – 16.55 : Enhance the support on the long-term after the disappearance
The day will be interspersed with a free lunch from 12 noon to 13: 30, no food service will be provided on-site.
The closing speech of the symposium will be delivered from 16.55 to 17h, thus marking the conclusion of this event.

THE 116 000 MISSING CHILDREN
The 116 000 is the toll-free hotline that is accessible 24 h / 24 et 7 j / 7 in the case of a missing child. Our teams mission is to listen to and support the families of missing children. We work with families in the framework of fugues, parental abduction in France or abroad, disappearances disturbing to minors and young adults (under 25 years). The 116 000 Missing Children is a member of Missing Children Europe, the european federation for missing and exploited children sexually.
The 116 000 Missing Children is coordinated and managed by the Right to Childhood. Foundation for child protection recognized as a public utility since 1866, it welcomes and accompanies in the Île-de-France, several hundreds of boys and girls placed under protection by the'aide Sociale à l'enfance (ASE). Right from Childhood is also the French member of the International Social Service (ISS), international player of the protection of children.

MISSING CHILDREN EUROPE
Missing Children Europe (MCE) brings together 31 non-governmental organizations, active in 26 countries of Europe, fighting against the disappearances of children and their sexual exploitation. It provides support and coordinates the associations in charge of the 116 000 in each country. In total, 31 countries (Eu, but also theAlbania, Serbia, Switzerland andUkraine) have hotlines for missing children, accessible by calling 116 000.
